Steed Custom Homes reputation as a leader in the building industry precedes it with a long list of detailed residential construction projects—including many extreme remodels. As a Certified Master Builder, Steed Custom Homes’ goal is to provide a level of service and expertise that lends pride in ownership. Will and Jack Steed have a family history of building that can be traced back over a thousand years. Coming from a family of builders, Steed Custom Homes was founded in 1999 after Will graduated from Texas Christian University and served as an officer in the United States Army.

Focusing primarily on custom homes and remodels in the Greater Dallas-Fort Worth area including Granbury, Steed Custom Homes has grown rapidly in the last decade. So much so, that Will’s brother, Jack, joined the team, expanding Steed Custom Homes into the Red River Valley region of North Texas. As a result of this growth, Steed Custom Homes is now capable of building beautiful luxury homes from the Red River border all the way down into the Texas Hill Country!

Gene’s entry into the building profession began at an early age. At the age of 7 his parents began the task of remodeling an 80-year-old farm house and planted the seed that would become a lifelong passion. By the age of 12, Gene’s summers were spent working with his uncle painting new and remodeled homes and by the age of 15, was helping to build several homes and businesses in his hometown of Collinsville, Texas. At the age of 21, Gene began working for a contractor where he learned all aspects of building custom homes and for 7 years was involved in the construction and remodeling of dozens of homes in Cooke and Grayson counties in the Texoma Region of north central Texas. At the age of 27, Gene began a 25-year career in retail where detail and customer service are not just needed traits, but required. However, the love of construction and remodeling never went away, and Gene was always undertaking as many construction projects as he could for family and friends as his schedule would allow during that 25 years.

After retiring from retail it only took Gene a few short months to pursue his love of construction again. Joining Steed Custom Homes in February of 2013, Gene looks forward to meeting new clients and making the construction of their new custom luxury home an enjoyable experience. When not on the job, Gene enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren and enjoys serving his community as a certified volunteer firefighter and EMT in the community of Collinsville.
